Authentic Vision and IBM Research Collaborate to Combat Supply Chain Fraud
Authentic Vision’s anti-counterfeiting and authentication solution is a core component of IBM’s Blockchain framework to enhance security, transparency and efficiency of supply chains globally.
Salzburg, Austria. December 11, 2019: Authentic Vision announced a collaboration with IBM Research with the aim to combat product counterfeiting. Integrating its unique Holographic Fingerprint™, real-time authentication and analytics platform with IBM’s Blockchain and crypto anchors technology has resulted in a three-layered solution that ensures product authenticity.
While Blockchain technology ensures the integrity, security and trust in the digital world, it lacks a secure link to physical products. Authentic Vision’s technology solves this problem by providing each physical product with a unique physical Holographic Fingerprint™ that cannot be copied or transferred. Each fingerprint uniquely connects a physical product with a digital identity in the blockchain.
IBM Research selected Authentic Vision’s technology for its advanced crypto anchor solution based on its unique Holographic Fingerprint™ label. Product authenticity can be easily and quickly verified in real-time using Authentic Vision’s smartphone app. Together, the security label or “crypto anchor” and smartphone app provide a secure and seamless integration of physical assets into the digital world.
“Assuring product authenticity is critical across many industries, but especially those where counterfeited or adulterated products could cause substantial harm. While blockchain technology can increase transparency and traceability in the supply chain, a linkage or fingerprint tied to the physical product is the only way to guarantee authenticity. Authentic Vision’s unique Holographic Fingerprint™ tag provides the crucial part – a random and unique physical identifier that can be easily integrated into every product and verified using our smartphone app. We are thrilled to be collaborating with IBM to enhance supply chain security by linking the digital blockchain to the physical world.” said Thomas Weiss, CEO and Founder, Authentic Vision.
Crypto anchors are a critical element of protecting physical products and goods because they are embedded in the product or good and consist of cryptographic mechanisms that provide unclonable identification. Essentially, they are the physical link to a digitally stored unique identifier and cannot be tampered with, removed or modified without destroying the physical anchor, damaging the object, or leaving visible signs of tampering.
